A little update on the hobby side:
I completed a basic core set of Zone Mortalis compatible terrain for Necromunda! It had been going on sporadically in December as I left my Ender 3 printer with my friend to fix and service and print. He managed to print out around 60% of it. When I came back after my long extended hols I got the A1 Mini and finished the remaining 40%. Took me roughly a week. Had to learn the printing profiles and how to use the slicer software to full advantage. (The printer is literally press “Print” and you walk away and the printer will beep when it’s done.)
Now to PAINT the darn thing.
I need to finish painting my Van Saar Tek Hunters so I can put it away. Then another gang: either Goliath or Delaque.
I printed enough scatter terrain for future games of Silver Bayonet set in the Middle East. I may have to print one or two more ruins to give it that Middle Eastern/Egyptian feel but the palm trees alone do much of the heavy lifting as far as the setting is concerned.
Finally, my current project is printing terrain for a 12mm (note the size!) Kickstarted solo/co-op skirmish game called Sector AL-IX. It’s a steampunk/dieselpunk milieu with very very evocative ship and minis designs. Let down a little by the fact it uses… sigh… d20s.
There are already two campaigns available and a free (?) mini campaign. I’m currently printing out the core terrain set and I managed to print out the Landing Barge on FDM (instead of the required resin) that’s needed for the first mission of the introductory campaign. The minis are of course impossible because they are 12mm, so resin it is. That will take some time to get done as I don’t have my resin printer with me any more.
So far in 24 hours I managed to print this much terrain. (That A1 Mini is FAST!)
The link for the Kickstarter is here (for general info if anyone’s interested) and I think there’s a late pledge for those who want to get into the game. There’s a LOT of minis and floating terrain (everything is set in the sky - very dieselpunkish!) and there’s your faction (sky pirates) vs the Man (Compagnie du Nord) and I THINK there might be another NPC (?) faction out there?
Anyway, enjoy some images of the game and minis!
