The campaign continues!
After crash landing on Tatooine, Capt. Jyn Odan managed to find all the members of her crew save one: Saka Hess, the ship's technician. Judging from the activity around Mos Espa, Saka was probably captured in the night, and is now being held prisoner in Captain Van Tam's camp before being transferred to Mos Eisley.
Mission: free Saka from captivity before it is too late!
#2: Breakout!
After randomly placing the Minor Plot Points and randomly placing the sentry patrols and randomly determining the deployment area, the crew of the Ataraxia are ready to bust their colleague from captivity. Also randomly determining a scenario event gives a 10: choose any event, and of course I choose to move one sentry as far away as possible.
All the crew of the Artaraxia start in Stealth mode and the Stormtroopers have to attempt to Spot them. Models in Stealth mode have to clearly win an opposed roll, not just draw to remain stealthed.
Jyn heads towards the closest Plot Point: a log book carelessly left out by one of the guard sergeants.
Dayala makes for a Drunk Cook. A rumour she overheard said that the Drunk Cook might have information about where the captive is being held. The other 2 Minor Plot Points (a Young Girl and a Lazy Stormtrooper) are too far away to attempt, and also the rest of the crew have a paltry 1d6 for most actions. It will be a miracle if they aren't stymied by the mandatory Solo Card draws I need to make at the beginning of each round. So they just hang back... just in case.
However, so that my Leader and Sidekick aren’t affected by adverse card draws, I actually drew the 3 Solo Cards on the 3 Allies. If they get a negative result, it’s fine because they usually can’t attempt the Plot Points anyway.
Sure enough thanks to the distractions provided by the other crew members, Jyn and Dayala successfully discover where Saka is being held (on Round 3 because even the leader with 3d10s flubbed a simple 2 success challenge! Dayala flubbed her 2d6 challenges). The Log Book tells Jyn where Saka is being held. The cards indicate the locations. The Drunk Cook tells Dayala where he thinks Saka is being held.
Unfortunately a sentry wanders too close and manages to spot Dayala. The alarm is raised and more reinforcements appear! (Dayala has 2d6 vs 1d6 and she failed the roll!) From now on, there really isn't any point to remain in Stealth mode. See photo above.
However, the focus on Dayala allows Jyn to enter the building where Saka is being held. Can't do anything on turn 4 because she has to move more than 6".
The other crew members run interference, creating distractions and shooting at the approaching Stormtrooper sentries. Some Stormtroopers are downed but manage to recover and keep on shooting (meaning they dropped to avoid the fire from the crew). Drawn by the sound of gunfire more Stormtroopers appear, rushing onto the scene from wherever they might be.
However, the sustained fire from the rest of the crew and Dayala’s heroic actions in drawing the Stormtrooper's fire gives Jyn the time to remove the shackles from Saka. And then Jyn, Saka and Dayala take the opportunity to make a break for it, dodging blaster fire from Stormtroopers all the way! All the while, the rest of the crew give them covering fire until the rescue is successfully completed!

Wow, that was tense. I thought I only needed 2 models (Jyn and Sidekick Dayala) to handle this mission. But I was wrong. Thankfully I brought the rest of the crew!
That’s why I like Pulp Alley: tense pulp action all the way!
Next: a social (??!!) mission. For this I really need more models and its off to the 3D printers I go.
